Fashion photography is another area of my specialization. Again, fashion photography has almost fallen into place on my agenda when models asked for headshots and portfolio photographs. The purpose of true fashion photography is to show the clothes and /or accessories, with the model only of secondary interest. Thus the lighting and the posing needs to complement the fashion items of interest. However, when the "fashion" photographs are made to be used in a model portfolio or web site, then both the fashion item and the model are of extreme interest.

In most of the photographs below, they were taken for the model rather than for selling the items, so the "look" of the model is very important as well as the fashion item, whether clothes or an accessory. As with my people photographs, what I try to capture is the essence of the person wearing the item, as well as the item, to produce a composite image. This should be more than a straight representation, but rather an attention getting image that will try to both flatter the model as well as the fashion item. Below are a few examples of my fashion photography.

Megan wears this dress with a style and confidence that makes it a winner.

Rebecca looks great in blue, and her swirl shows the detail of the dress extremely well.

Breanna wears this dress with style. The upswept hair and high heels lend the image a sense of elegance that makes it sure to sell.

This red dress seems to be made for Kori. The wide black belt plus black boots really set off both the model and the dress.

Cali's pose gives this short skirt and aqua top a casual elegance and style all its own.

In this photo Kori has a very casual look, with jeans and a headband setting off the pink top and coordinated scarf.

This is a well coordinated look, with the dark pink jacket and light pink sweater set off by the black necklace and the pink lace hair tie. I love the "pinkness" of it, and Becca seems delighted with it as well.

This is another "pink" photograph, this time showing Breanna with a pink hat and pink furry collar. The set of her hat adds interest to what could be a static shot.

The final photograph of this section is of Becca showing off her sunglasses. Fashion photography includes images of accessories as well as jewelry and all types of glasses. By having the glasses off the eyes this photograph can be a type of headshot for the model as well as making the glasses look good.
